How positivity can change your life.

Two individuals- Y& Z have terribly failed at business. Both of them are devastated from within. However, Y is resilient and manages to turn his failure into a stepping stone for success in future, while Z completely gives up and is not willing to put in efforts to turn around things for himself, anymore, because he believes that he is now a dead duck and can’t fix his situation.

Which mindset do you have? If you feel the way Z feels , then, maybe, it’s time to reprogram your mind because, whatever your circumstances are- good or bad, are, by and large, the result of your thoughts. The good news is that planting positive thoughts in your mind is not all that difficult.

People with a ‘growth mindset’ have one thing in common – and that is, the use of positive affirmations on an everyday basis. But, what exactly are positive affirmations?

In layman terms, positive affirmations are the positive self-talk statements we repeat to ourselves to remind ourselves of our potential to accomplish a particular goal. These magical words trick our subconscious minds into believing that these positive words are actually true.

However, it’s important to remember that our negative thoughts and statements influence our subconscious minds negatively and create negative realities for us. For instance, if you repeatedly keep saying to yourself, “ This is too difficult for me. I can’t do this.” “ I am not good enough.”, your mind starts to believe that this is your reality and you start acting accordingly. Also, being positive for a bit and then bouncing back to negative thoughts neutralizes the effect of positive affirmations and, that’s a deal-breaker. You need to be consistently positive and repeat positive affirmations frequently in order for them to become your reality because miracles don’t happen overnight. Your subconscious mind is so powerful that whatever you see, think, feel, is all stored in it and eventually materializes.

Victor Hugo rightly said, “People do not lack strength, they lack the will.” The groundbreaking discoveries that have been made in the past, are nothing but the result of two important things- belief in oneself and willingness to change. Positive affirmations come into play here. Walt Disney endured innumerable failures before he could become one of the greatest cartoonists of all times. In the face of all odds, he did not retreat. Rather, he persevered because he was optimistic about his abilities. History is replete with examples of many such people. The point is- we all have the ability to create meaningful change in our lives, provided, we stick to the use of positive affirmations. As it turns out, some researches have shown that positive affirmations help keep life-threatening diseases at bay and therefore help increase the longevity of life. Let me briefly tell you how these positive thoughts can bring about a complete metamorphosis in our lives and change things for the better.

Positive affirmations help:

  1. Achieve great strides in your career
  2. Increase self-confidence and self-esteem
  3. Foster relationships
  4. Get rid of stress
  5. Attract wealth and good health

These are few of the many powers of positive affirmations. So, why not use your subconscious mind to your advantage? You can say some of the following words to attract positive energy:

  •  I love and approve of myself.
  •  I am a hardworking and determined person.
  • I am a beautiful soul.
  • I radiate positivity wherever I go.
  • I am healthy, wealthy and wise.
  • I am calm and peaceful.

You can modify these words according to the goal you want to achieve. Believe in yourself while you say these words and do not say them just for the sake of it. And, mind you, these words should be said in the present tense in order for them to be effective. You have to make your mind believe that your goal has already been achieved. By now, you must’ve understood that the key to your success lies in positivity. It’s your mindset that has the ability to either make or break things for you. So, go, start making positive self-talk and you’ll see the difference.

  1. This reminds me of two great books that i have read – the power of subconsciois mind and Awaken the giant within.
No need to go through them if someone has read this article.

  2. I also firmly believe in positive and negative energy around us. It all depends upon us. Beautifully penned.
